Elektrim
Purpose
The purpose of the project was development and production of the electronic catalog of the electric motors and multimedia presentation of the Elektrim SA, Elektrim Motor SA and four other motor producing companies. Both the catalog and the presentation was supposed to be prepared in two language version – Polish and English.
Methods
The assumption has been made that before the start of the work with full software package the user will see computer advertising animation with the company logo to amplify the trademark’s awareness (there is an option to skip the intro after the first display). From the main menu the user can choose to see individual parts of the presentation or to enter database of the electronic products catalog.
With regard to variety of the presented products the precise definition of the technical parameters and demands during the search was difficult to achieve. That is why there has been developed two-stages search. In the first stage the user defines few basic parameters and in the second stage the user can choose several products with the similar features. The user can then browse through chosen types and has a possibility to compare most of the technical parameters. There is a constant access to the full catalog card of all initially chosen products.
It is possible that for some users the most important part of all package are the catalog cards. That is why the presentation has been designed to ensure easy access and possibility of printing catalog cards without the necessity of starting the presentation or browsing through database.
Technology
The multimedia presentation has been prepared with the aid of Macromedia Director software. Additionally, graphic and sound editing software, has also been used. The data base software and user interface has been written in the Delphi environment.
The development of the data base of all electric motors produced by Elektrim Motor SA and the transforming the data from the Besel, Indukta Celma and EMIT companies to equal form has also been part of the project. The electronic catalog cards have been prepared as a pdf files with the use of Adobe Acrobat software.
Results
The result of the project is a multimedia presentation of the Elektrim SA, Elektrim Motor SA, Besel, Indukta Celma and EMIT companies – the producers of electric motors and the data base with the electronic products catalog. The interface of the database enables defining the criterions by the user the on the basis of which the proper motor will be suggested. The catalog cards of all analyzed motors are constantly accessible.
The catalog cards of all the products are gathered in separate folder on CD and can be accessed by any file managing software without the necessity of starting the presentation.
