"Thinking Investment... Think Poland!" multimedia presentation
Purpose
The purpose of the project was the creation of multimedia presentation on CD-ROM intended for foreign investors. The presentation supposed to contain basic information about Poland, discuss issues of economic activities of the transactors with the foreign capital, show the statistics concerning foreign investments in Poland and present the experience of the foreign investors from previous presence in our country.
The assumption was that most important is the presentation of Poland as a modern country with great history and extensive culture, high aspirations, large growth potential, aiming for United Nation membership, the country which is attractive economic partner for many companies from various countries.
Methods
In the purpose of achieving accepted terms, it has been assumed, that the presentation should make the viewer picture Poland as a modern country, interesting in the terms of economic activities, estimating highly the professionalism and inspiring the trust in foreign investors.
Desired effect has been achieved by attaching special importance to the highest quality of the presentation in the merits and in execution.

well-considered conception of the presentation’s construction, perfect in the opinion of many users, extensive in subject-matter and interesting in form script,
- interesting graphics constituting the base of the presentation,
- high quality of the lector’s commentary (read by English actor) creating the atmosphere of professionalism in the PAIZ’s contacts with the foreign investors,
- carefully planned music illustration, creating suitable climate, developed with the assistance of films’ sound design studio(Chopin’s music in classical and modern orchestration, depending on the location and function in the presentation).
Owing to the content of large number of photographs taken in different regions of the world, the presentation gives a wide regard on the subject and has a sense of professionalism and realism.
Technology
The presentation has been executed with the use of computer graphic’s creation techniques and digitally generated animations. Editing has been performed in Macromedia Director environment with extensive use of Lingo language.
Interviews with foreign investors has been presented in digital form, in avi format. Large PAIZ publication’s library (reports considering the state of foreign investment in Poland, sector reports, English translations of legal acts) has been converted into the digital form by means of Adobe Acrobat software (pdf files). In the purpose of adding almost 3 hours of lector’s commentary, the digital recording has been edited and compressed with the use of SoundForge software.
Results
The result of the project is coherent multimedia presentation integrating different forms of expression to achieve intended purpose: to deliver to the potential foreign investors the information about Poland, present our country as a modern and interesting place for investment and to give detailed information on selected issues.
The presentation has been prepared as a multilayer medium of expression. Considering the individual user we employed:

comprehensive commentary including detailed discussion of legal and financial issues, complementing the data presented in the form of graphics, tables and animations,

additional materials in the form of interviews with the investors considering their experience with the activities in Poland and in the form of pdf publications. The person using the presentation always has an easy access to the required materials and references. Considering the possible use of the presentation on the fairs and exhibitions, individual screens contain short text commentaries displaying main ideas and information on the subject.
The presentation also discuss duties and forms of activity of the PAIZ. It contains animated map showing how to reach the PAIZ headquarters in Warsaw. The presentation has been publicized in few thousands of copies and has been highly estimated by the investors and consultants from many countries of the world.
