The characteristic aspects of a multimedia presentation are:
the integration of different media into one form
it simultaneously affects different senses
a number of different ways of presenting pictures, e.g. on the computer monitor, a large screen (with the use of a projector), or in multimedia stands (kiosks)
interactivity, which allows the user to interact with the available material, and decide at what speed, and in what way, to make use of it
In a well designed presentation the augmentation and updating of infromation does not pose a problem. By building the presentation in a modular fashion, and using multiple levels of knowledge, there exists the possibility of adapting the presentatio to accomodate future changes in information or to include other media.
