Since 1999 JMC has been developing and maintaining an information portal about breast cancer - www.rakpiersi.pl. This is our project for the society's wellbeing, in which we cooperate with Breast Cancer Clinic of the Centre of Oncology – Maria Skłodowska Curie Institute in Warsaw.
The objective of the project is to increase awareness about the disease, the risks it poses and early diagnostics methods, as well as issues of treatment, rehabilitation and psychological support. A discussion forum and chat create possibilities to offer support for persons in need.
From the feedback information and comments received we know, that the portal is a valuable help to many persons, contributes to earlier diagnosis, while to those who are diagnosed with the disease and their families is a great help during difficult moments.
Our intention is to further develop the portal, include new elements and options, so that it could be even more diverse information centre and a modern communication and support platform.
