Web usability
A site's level of usability is what usually determines whether we return to it, or whether we just ignore it.
Web usability comprises of many factors - including information presentation methods and navigation interfaces. A usable website will present information in an easily accessible way, so that the user is never confused about what to do next to find what he wants. Indeed, JMC generally follows the "Don't make me think" approach to navigation - making it as intuitive and effective as possible.
We address the issue of web usability already in the first few meetings with our clients. Together we decide on the site's skeletal structure and its navigation technique, which form the basis for the project. In subsequent stages of the sites' production we utilise well-established techniques combined with our own research and experience in implementing the user interface.
The final stage of the project consists of testing. The testers we assign to each project are always employees who have not worked on any earlier stage of the particular project. This helps eliminate evaluation bias, and gives us the opportunity to gauge whether regular users can navigate the site comfortably and find the information they need.
